About Dr. NPI Search

Dr. NPI Search is an independent tool that organizes public CMS NPPES records so you can look up a National Provider Identifier (NPI) by number, provider name, organization, location, or taxonomy classification. Every record shown comes from the public National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

What we do

  • Organize public NPPES records into a fast, readable lookup.
  • Let you search by NPI number, provider or organization name, city, state, or specialty.
  • Present each record's public administrative fields in plain English.
  • Link out to the official CMS source and explain when the data was last updated.

What we do not do

An NPI is a public administrative identifier. Dr. NPI Search does not confirm a provider's license, credentials, board certification, clinical quality, insurance participation, or whether they are accepting patients. We do not add ratings, reviews, or any quality judgment. Always confirm important information with the appropriate licensing board or primary source. See our disclaimer for details.

Where the data comes from

The data is the public NPPES data dissemination file published by CMS through NPPES. CMS is the authoritative source; a provider may have updated their record more recently than our last refresh. See data freshness and methodology for how we organize the data.

Who operates this site

Dr. NPI Search is operated by PGBDIC LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CMS or any government agency. Questions? Visit our contact page.
